Web Credibility Analysis
Based on BJ Fogg's research on Persuasive Technology, we evaluated the site on
following parameters:

  • What heuristics do users employ when evaluating the credibility of online sources?
  • What contextual and design factors influence these assessments and strategies?
  • Whether users are likely to believe (or not believe) what they find on the  Disney.
    com?
  • What are the implications of Prominence Interpretation Theory for a massive site
    like Disney?

User Experience Audit
The User Experience determined how well Disney.com meets user's expectations in the
following categories:

  • Branding - How well and how consistently does the site cultivate its image, mission,
    and character?
  • Content - What is the quality of the content hosted by the site? How well is it
    organized?
  • Functionality - Does the site provide functions and features that achieve user goals?
  • Usability - Is the site's architecture, design, organization, labeling, and navigation
clear, minimalist, intuitive, and sufficient to the task of meeting the needs of a broad
    user population?

OVERVIEW
I worked with three other team members to recommend Information
Architecture strategy for Disney.com. The deliverables included higher-level
recommendations supported with wire frames and blueprints. The strategy
report focused on Web Credibility analysis and User Experience audit on
branding, content, functionality, and usability.

RESULTS

Our major findings
suggested that the site
supports the Disney brand
image and offers high
suffers from usability
problems and functional
quality, thereby
diminishing the user
experience overall. We
supported our findings
with necessary facts and
analysis, while providing
the necessary
recommendations for
redesign of interactions
and information
architecture.
